Effective Date: March 2026 This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how the Pawdex core contributors, affiliates, and operators (collectively, “Pawdex”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collect, use, and handle information in connection with your access to and use of the Pawdex website, decentralized application (dApp), and related front-end interfaces (collectively, the “Interface”). This Policy applies strictly to the Interface and our off-chain databases. It does not apply to the Pawdex protocol, the routing algorithms, the tokenpad smart contracts, or the Oasis Network (collectively, the “Protocol”), which are decentralized, permissionless, and immutable software systems operating on public and confidential distributed ledgers. By accessing or using the Interface, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the data practices described in this Policy.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Pawdex is committed to the principles of decentralized finance (DeFi). To access the core functionality of the Interface, we do not require, nor do we intentionally collect, sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII). For the avoidance of doubt, Pawdex does not collect, request, or store:
  • Real names, physical addresses, or email addresses.
  • Government-issued identification (e.g., driver’s licenses, passports).
  • Financial account information, credit card numbers, or bank details.
  • Demographic data, such as age, gender, or nationality.
We do not implement “Know Your Customer” (KYC) or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) onboarding procedures.

2. Information Collected via the Interface

While we do not collect sensitive PII, interacting with the Interface and creating a customized experience requires the processing of certain technical and profile data.

A. Pseudonymous User Profiles

When you connect to the Pawdex Interface, a profile is automatically generated. We collect and store the username you select, which is mapped directly to your connected cryptographic wallet address in our off-chain database. This username is considered pseudonymous data; it is used solely for display purposes within the ecosystem (e.g., leaderboards, creator attribution, or UI personalization) and is not linked to your real-world identity unless you voluntarily choose a username that reveals it.

B. Public Blockchain Data

When you connect your wallet and execute a transaction, your wallet address, transaction hash, token balances, and interaction history are broadcast to the Oasis Network. You acknowledge that blockchain networks are fundamentally public ledgers. We do not control this network, and we have no ability to alter, delete, or obscure your transaction history on the base layer.

C. Oasis Sapphire Confidentiality Features

Pawdex is deployed on the Oasis Sapphire network, which utilizes a Confidential Ethereum Virtual Machine (cEVM). While base-layer interactions (such as gas payments and wallet addresses) may be public, specific smart contract states, trade routing parameters, and execution logic may be cryptographically shielded. Pawdex leverages this infrastructure to mitigate Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) attacks and front-running.

D. Technical and Usage Data

To maintain the security, stability, and performance of the Interface, our web hosting infrastructure may automatically log standard technical data, which may include:
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution.
  • Network Data: Coarse, generalized geographical data (e.g., country or region) derived from routing requests, used strictly for DDOS mitigation and load balancing.
  • Application Analytics: Non-identifiable interaction metrics to optimize the user experience.

3. How We Use Your Data

Any profile, technical, or usage data processed by the Interface is utilized exclusively for the following operational purposes:
  • Service Provisioning: To facilitate the connection between your wallet and our RPC endpoints, and to render your custom username across the Interface.
  • Security: To monitor for and prevent malicious activity, spam, and denial-of-service attacks against our front-end infrastructure.
  • Optimization: To debug routing errors, improve the Aggregator’s pathfinding latency, and enhance the overall performance of the Interface.
Pawdex strictly prohibits the monetization of user data. We do not sell, rent, license, or share your usernames, technical data, wallet addresses, or browsing habits with third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing agencies.

4. Third-Party Infrastructure

The Interface relies on decentralized and third-party infrastructure to function. This Policy does not cover the privacy practices of these external entities:
  • Wallet Providers: Software wallets (e.g., MetaMask, Rabby) operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Pawdex does not have access to your private keys or seed phrases.
  • RPC Nodes: We utilize third-party RPC providers to query the Oasis Network and broadcast transactions. These providers may temporarily log IP addresses and request payloads per their respective policies.

5. Data Security and Retention

We implement commercially reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect the off-chain data we process, including your saved username. Because we do not store sensitive personal profiles, the risk profile of our database is significantly reduced. Any off-chain analytics or error logs are retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the operational purposes outlined in Section 3, after which they are routinely purged or permanently anonymized.

6. User Rights and Controls

Given the decentralized architecture of Pawdex, your data privacy is largely under your direct control:
  • Profile Management: You may update or change your pseudonymous username through the Interface settings.
  • Disconnecting Wallets: You may sever the connection between your wallet and the Interface at any time via your wallet provider’s interface.
  • Blockchain Immutability: Please note that requests to “delete” or “forget” data cannot be honored regarding on-chain transaction history, as the Oasis Network is an immutable ledger beyond our control.

7. Minors and Eligibility

The Interface is not directed toward, nor intended for use by, individuals under the age of majority in their respective jurisdictions. We do not knowingly collect profile or technical data from minors. If you are under the applicable age of majority, you are strictly prohibited from using the Interface.

8. Modifications to this Policy

We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at our discretion to reflect changes in our infrastructure, the Oasis ecosystem, or applicable regulatory frameworks. Any revisions will be published on this page, and the “Effective Date” at the top will be updated accordingly. Your continued use of the Interface following the posting of an updated Policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
